Introduction: Do the saints of God in our time understand the importance of Jesus' words when he taught his disciples that the Holy Spirit would serve as their companion following his own departure? We think not. Much understanding of the Holy Spirit's present ministry in the New Covenant era has been buried under the weight of religion and its go it alone mentality. It is a mentality that fosters dependence upon the flesh with its legalisms and traditions rather than "Christ in you".
